🇺🇸 Exclusive Interview with Philfine – The Voice Behind “Give You My Life”

|

Blending heartfelt lyrics, spiritual roots, and a modern approach to songwriting, Philfine is a voice you won’t forget. As his upcoming album draws near, the artist opens up about his creative process, inspirations, and vision for the future.

How did you get into music? Was there a specific moment or trigger that pushed you to start?

P: Music has always been around me. I grew up singing in church, and that gave me a deep connection to melody, harmony, and expression. There wasn’t a dramatic turning point, it’s more like music has always been part of my DNA.

What inspired you to write “Give You My Life”? What was the starting point?

P: “I give you my life, I love you my wife” was the final line of a poem I wrote for my wife. That single line carried so much meaning that I knew it had to become a song. The emotion behind it is what gave birth to “Give You My Life.”

What’s your songwriting process like? What role does artificial intelligence play in that process?

P: I can start writing from just one word or a simple concept, then build the song from there. Sometimes I begin with lyrics, other times I’ll hear an instrumental and the melody just hits me. As for AI, it’s a powerful creative partner it can boost productivity and spark new ideas. But of course, it has to be used with integrity.

Speaking of AI, what’s your opinion on its use in the creative field? Do you see it as something positive?

P: Definitely. AI can enhance the creative process when used correctly. It helps artists stay organized, experiment faster, and push boundaries. But it’s important to remember that technology should support creativity, not replace it. There’s a fine line between innovation and imitation.

One item you absolutely can’t live without on a daily basis?

P: Music, without a doubt. It’s the fuel that drives my emotions and inspires me to keep growing. It’s more than background noise, it’s a source of power.

The last 3 songs you listened to today, no cheating!

P: “Fire”, “Loving You”, and “Blessed”, all of them are by Philfine. “Blessed” will actually be part of my upcoming album, which drops late August or early September.

A phrase or expression that defines you well?

P: I have nothing but love for you. It reflects how I see the world and how I try to show up in everything I do.

If your project ever came to life on stage, what would that look like?

P: A vibrant and soulful experience filled with joy, energy, and just the right amount of emotional depth. The audience would leave feeling something, uplifted, moved, or maybe even transformed.

If you had one piece of advice for aspiring artists trying to make a living from their music, what would it be?

P: Create what you truly love. Don’t try to fit into boxes or trends. When your music is honest, it will always find the right ears. You can never go wrong with your own truth.

What are your goals for 2025?

P: My focus is on expanding the reach of my music. I know the audience is out there, and I want to connect with them in a deeper, more consistent way. Visibility is key right now.

Any final words to wrap things up?

P: Thank you for the amazing support. It means everything. I hope my music continues to speak to people and build lasting connections.
