Son dernier projet <em>Figures Discr\u00e8tes<\/em>, d\u00e9voil\u00e9 le 20 juin 2025, d\u00e9voile une galerie de portraits cisel\u00e9s et po\u00e9tiques. Influenc\u00e9 aussi bien par le hip-hop old school que par les rythmes afro-cubains, il explore avec subtilit\u00e9 les zones d\u2019ombre de l\u2019\u00e2me humaine. Son titre <strong>\u00ab Don Juan \u00bb<\/strong>, accompagn\u00e9 d\u2019un clip cin\u00e9matographique soign\u00e9, vient illustrer \u00e0 merveille cette ambition artistique. \u00c0 cette occasion, l\u2019artiste a accept\u00e9 de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 nos questions, entre introspection, m\u00e9thode de cr\u00e9ation et avenir artistique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bonjour Topaze, et merci de prendre le temps de r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 nos questions. Pour commencer, comment as-tu commenc\u00e9 la musique ? Quel a \u00e9t\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9l\u00e9ment d\u00e9clencheur ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T.C. :<\/strong> Enfant, j&#8217;ai commenc\u00e9 par jouer de la guitare, sans doute influenc\u00e9 par mon p\u00e8re, qui avait fait partie d\u2019un groupe hispanique. \u00c0 la maison, on \u00e9coutait beaucoup de chanson fran\u00e7aise \u00e0 texte. J\u2019ai mis la guitare de c\u00f4t\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019adolescence pour me plonger dans le rap fran\u00e7ais et \u00e9crire mes premiers textes. C\u2019est vers vingt ans, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ma compagne pianiste, que j\u2019ai replong\u00e9 dans la musique, notamment en int\u00e9grant son groupe latino. J\u2019y ai d\u00e9couvert les percussions, les ch\u0153urs, l\u2019impro\u2026 Et un peu avant 2020, j\u2019ai eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de rapper sur deux titres produits par DJ Format et DjarOne. Le succ\u00e8s artistique de ce projet m\u2019a donn\u00e9 l\u2019\u00e9lan pour continuer, cette fois avec mon fils, beatmaker. C\u2019est cette aventure interg\u00e9n\u00e9rationnelle qui a nourri <em>Figures Discr\u00e8tes<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Qu\u2019est-ce qui t\u2019a inspir\u00e9 pour \u00e9crire ton dernier single \u00ab Don Juan \u00bb ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong>T.C. <\/strong>:<\/strong> J\u2019ai toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 sensible aux failles humaines. J\u2019ai voulu faire de \u00ab Don Juan \u00bb un portrait psychologique nuanc\u00e9 : pas le s\u00e9ducteur flamboyant, mais un personnage plus triste, fragile, contradictoire. C\u00f4t\u00e9 forme, j\u2019ai \u00e9t\u00e9 influenc\u00e9 par le retour du rap \u00e0 texte incarn\u00e9 par l\u2019Entourage, Orelsan, ou encore Seth Gueko dans \u00ab Titi Parisien Remix \u00bb. Un ami m\u2019a m\u00eame parl\u00e9 de vibes \u00e0 la La Rumeur. Tu commences par le texte ou la musique ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>T.C. <\/strong>:<\/strong><\/strong> Je n\u2019ai pas de m\u00e9thode fixe. Je suis tr\u00e8s intuitif. J\u2019\u00e9cris des bribes partout \u2014 dans des carnets, sur mon t\u00e9l\u00e9phone \u2014 et je reconnecte les morceaux quand l\u2019inspiration vient. Parfois, c\u2019est l\u2019instru qui me dicte le ton ; parfois, j\u2019ai une id\u00e9e de texte avant m\u00eame d\u2019avoir une musique. C\u2019est tr\u00e8s in\u00e9gal : certains morceaux sortent d\u2019une traite, d\u2019autres me donnent du fil \u00e0 retordre. Une fois que le texte est l\u00e0, j\u2019essaie de le m\u00e9moriser pour \u00eatre fluide en studio. Sur <em>Figures Discr\u00e8tes<\/em>, les meilleures prises sont des one shots. Sauf pour \u00ab \u00c9ole \u00bb, o\u00f9 j\u2019ai tent\u00e9 l\u2019\u00ab overlap \u00bb avec Le Zil, une technique venue du DMV flow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Pourquoi avoir appel\u00e9 ton EP \u00ab Figures Discr\u00e8tes \u00bb ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>T.C. <\/strong>:<\/strong><\/strong> Parce que chaque morceau incarne un personnage, une figure. Je voulais jouer avec les doubles sens : \u00ab figure \u00bb au sens de personnage ou de forme, \u00ab discr\u00e8tes \u00bb pour \u00e9voquer \u00e0 la fois leur myst\u00e8re et leur singularit\u00e9. Chaque titre est un univers \u00e0 part, mais ils composent un ensemble coh\u00e9rent, comme un recueil de nouvelles en musique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Si tu devais choisir un seul morceau de ton EP, ce serait lequel ? Les morceaux comme \u00ab L\u00e9on \u00bb ou \u00ab \u00c9ole \u00bb me permettent d\u2019explorer des flows plus modernes. Et \u00ab TPZ \u00bb, c\u2019est un ovni : je le d\u00e9crirais comme du tribal kitsch. Alors\u2026 impossible de choisir un seul enfant !<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Un objet dont tu ne peux pas te passer au quotidien ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong>T.C. <\/strong>:<\/strong><\/strong> Mon t\u00e9l\u00e9phone, malheureusement. C\u2019est un vrai cas de conscience\u2026 d\u2019ailleurs j\u2019en parle dans \u00ab Cowboy \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Les 3 derniers morceaux que tu as \u00e9cout\u00e9s aujourd\u2019hui ? Ce flot continu de micro-actualit\u00e9s, souvent approximatives ou manipul\u00e9es, est un fl\u00e9au moderne. C\u2019est d\u2019ailleurs un th\u00e8me que j\u2019aborde dans le titre \u00ab L\u00e9on \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Quels sont tes objectifs pour 2025 ?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>T.C. <\/strong>:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> Faire conna\u00eetre <em>Figures Discr\u00e8tes<\/em> au public, organiser un concert de vernissage \u00e0 Lausanne apr\u00e8s l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9.
