Hello, and thank you for taking the time to answer these questions! How did you get started in music?
TL: In 1980 I started to write my own songs and began band rehearsals with my own repertoire. I wrote an album called Turning Point and directly won two prices for it in Holland. Together with my band we toured through The Netherlands and Germany while in London we played for 60.000 people in Knebworth.
What was the triggering moment?
TL: When I was 14 years old I was in England on a hippie Party when I heard Painted Black from the Rolling Stones and I remember so well it struck me by lightening that’s what I want to do when I grow up.

What inspired you to write your latest single “Slow Down”?
TL: “Slow Down” We keep getting pushed and shoved by what we think we should do, perform and how we need to make an impression on others. But who are we really….. Slow down and listen to the truth of who we really are – of invaluable worth!
What is your creative process like?
TL: I start often on my piano or guitar to search a beautiful melody and than I write the chorus followed by the rest of the verses
Do you prefer starting with the music or the lyrics?
TL: Music first!!!
As an independent artist, what has been the biggest challenge in advancing your career?
TL: I couldn’t live from the music sadly enough and I had also started a family so needed money. I went into the Entertainment business organising Big business events and really grew into that. But the love for music always stayed in my life and all through my life I worked on songs and made 4 albums.
Now in retirement from my daily business in the Event Branch I decided to go for it and put my legacy in the world. I started this journey in november 2024 and have lots of music and songs to share.
In terms of your budget, how do you allocate it between music creation, video production, and promotion?
TL: 50 percent goes into the music creation process and 30 into the video productions and 20 percent goes in promotion.
No cheating – tell us the last 3 songs you listened to today!
TL: Give me shelter The Stones
Change the world Eric Clapton
Free Fallin Tom Petty
If you could give one piece of advice to aspiring artists who want to live off their music, what would it be?
TL: Don’t give up if your passion for music is real and you are blessed with a natural talent be a disciplined worker and study the road to lounge your music carefully
I think you should really invest time and money nowadays in Social Media and Music Marketing that needs to be probably half of your budget.
What are your goals for 2025?
TL: That the world gets to know my musical legacy and put 2 albums on the market
Any final words?
TL: Music should come straight from your heart be original and try to find your own style and place in the music world.
