Gemma Schito is a London-based Italian-English singer-songwriter representing a new generation of young artists discovering themselves and their place in the world through music. Her story reflects that of many young people who leave their homeland to build a better future elsewhere. Thanks to the support of her parents, Gemma moved to London with her family and her brother three years ago. In the British capital, she attends the prestigious Sylvia Young Theatre School, the same school attended by Amy Winehouse, Dua Lipa, and many others, spending her days between classes, rehearsals, writing, practicing, and performances.
Arriving in the UK at 11 without speaking English, Gemma turned melodies and lyrics into her language, a journey that led to full fluency and confidence, now expressed in her songwriting and performances. She began writing original songs at a very young age, during the Covid pandemic in Italy, composing both lyrics and music with profound emotional depth and a distinctive style. Music became her refuge and a way to transform personal experiences into authentic stories.
Her music ranges from intimate ballads to upbeat pop and pop-rock tracks, inspired by friendship conflicts, personal growth, and the challenges of moving to a new country. Growing up between two cultures, she blends melancholic and energetic pop-rock sounds, drawing inspiration from artists like Adele, Muse, and Arctic Monkeys, bringing honesty, depth, and determination to her art. On stage, Gemma is more than just a voice; she conveys deep emotions, captivating and enchanting her audience with elegance and directness.
